Easter Miracles!!! Inbox Lila Shumway Mon, Apr 10, 10:19 AM to me Hey everyone! I'm so sorry it's been so long since I've sent out an email, so here's an update! I am no longer in Hutchinson! I was there for a short 6 weeks and then was transferred right back to wichita, except now I'm in the auburn hills ward and it's been so fun! I'm also follow up training Sister Glass and she's so amazing! General Conference was wonderful! I was so excited! I was really able to pick out some big themes this conference like finding peace and ending contention in our lives by following the example of Jesus Christ/having charity! Right after General Conference, we had Zone Conference! Sister Glass and I were definitely spiritually fed and we were able to see some really cool miracles this week! A fun way Sister Glass and I choose to knock on doors is, we pick a certain color in the morning (usually prompted by the spirit) and if we see a house that color while we are out and about visiting members/friends then we'll knock on the door. Well on Friday we picked the color yellow (which was strange because we had picked yellow just a few days before, but sister glass felt strongly that we should look for yellow houses again that day). So we went to an inactive members house and the house next door was very yellow! So we knocked on the door and met a very nice man named Maher! He said he was kind of religious and believed in Jesus Christ and had read a lot of religious books like the Bible and the Koran. It sounded like he was on the fence about listening to our message but the people we meet don't always know they want to hear our message until they hear it! So I quickly introduced the Book of mormon and gave him a quick summary! We offered him his own copy, he accepted and said that we can come back! We also had an amazing church tour with our friend Mike! We invited a couple from the ward, the Lymans, to join because they are both converts to the church and had a lot in common with Mike! They basically gave the tour for us so that was fun haha! They gave great testimonies and answered all of Mike's questions! He kept saying how he knows he is missing something in his life and this might be it (HECK YA MIKE). Mike committed to coming to church on Sunday and he was so excited! Unfortunately, he forgot that he had prior commitments, but he promised that he'll join us at church next Sunday! Saturday evening, our stake put on an Easter musical program! And it was so beautiful, a little boy sang the song "Gethsemene" while his dad accompaniment him on the guitar. It was so beautiful and I definitely cried a lot. Sunday evening we went to a member's home for dinner! They have a son that lives with them, but he is inactive and struggles with some addiction. But he was friendly and joined us for dinner and our lesson! We talked about General Conference and 3 Nephi 11 for a while. Then the topic changed to patriarchal blessings, which we weren't planning on. The spirit prompted us to change our invitation to invite the family to read their patriarchal blessings and for their son to consider getting his! And they all said yes! I love Easter and I love my Savior! I know He lives❤️ I know God is in the details of our lives and miracles happen everyday! I love you all❤️❤️❤️ Love, Sister Shumway
